【Objective】 The present paper is an attempt to analyze the presence of main socio-economic and environmental barriers in the process of development of rural economic cooperative organization. 【Method】 The methods of qualitative analysis combined with documentary analysis were used to analyzed the presence of main socio-economic and environmental barriers in the process of development of rural economic cooperative organization. 【Result】 The main socio-economic and environmental barriers in the process of development of rural economic cooperative organization include low level of educational background of farmers, lack of enthusiasm to participate in rural economic cooperative organization, deficiency in knowledge of their own role playing in the development of rural economic cooperative organization for government, shortage of systematic study on the theory of rural economic cooperative organization,too many management subjects, absence of relevant laws and regulations,etc. 【Suggestion】 Based on the analysis results,some countermeasures have been put forward which include coordination of relationship between government and rural economic cooperative organization, enhancement of theoretical research,advertisement, and training for rural individuals,formulation of preferential policies for rural economic cooperative organization,etc., in order to get a comfortable operation of rural economic cooperative organization.
