【Objective】The current status of farmers’ income in poor counties in Guangxi was analyzed in this paper in order to discuss the path for sustainably increasing the farmers’ income in these poor counties. 【Method】Through a large number of documents and data， the famers’ income level， composition of per capita net income of farmers and their variation trend were analyzed systematically. Then， typical counties were chosen to be deeply analyzed. The farmers’ income increase characteristics and constraints in Guangxi poor counties were summarized. Based on the analysis， the growth path of farmers’ income in Guangxi poor counties was put forward. 【Result】Overall， the growth rate of net income of farmers in Guangxi poor counties was higher than the average level of in Guangxi. However， the growth rate of net income of farmers in some typical poor counties in Guangxi was still lower than that in the same city. Therefore， the income gap between poor counties and city was widening. The farmers’ net income level and its composition in different types of poor counties showed a larger difference. It was hard to get income increase in Guangxi poor counties because of concentrated poor areas， large proportion of minority areas and weak financial strength of Guangxi. 【Suggestion】Some countermeasures were recommended including development of advanced characteristic agricultural industry to raise household management income， steady promotion of non-agricultural industry employment for farmers to provide guarantee for increasing farmers’ wages income， establishment and improvement of property right system to sharply raise farmers’ property income， strengthening the rich peasant policy to increase farmers’ transfer income， clearance of responsibility， perfection of supporting measures， so as to realize the sustainable growth of farmers’ income in Guangxi poor counties.
