【Objective】The growth performance of Guitang29， a new sugarcane variety planted in Hechi， was investigated to provide effective references for its extension in Hechi. 【Method】In 2008-2011， Guitang29 was planted for experiment and demonstration in three counties. Adaptability， resistance， high yield and sugar content of new planting and ratoon sugarcane were surveyed for three years to analyze its application prospect in Hechi. 【Result】The comprehensive performance of Guitang29， which had good ratoon ability， strong resistance， stable yield and high sugar yield， were better than those of ROC16. Sugarcane yield， sucrose content and sugar yield of average was 108.10 t/ha，15.265% and 16.678 t/ha. Sugarcane yield and sugar yield of Guitang29 rose by 15.38% and 18.91%， and sucrose content went up by 0.87% （absolute value） than those of ROC16， respectively. 【Conclusion】The growth status of Guitang29 was good， so it had great extension value in Hechi.
