【Objective】The effects of phospholipase D (PLD) inhibitors on storage properties of postharvest longan fruits were studied in order to provide theoretical references for developing new longan preservatives. 【Method】Longan fruits (cv. “Shixia”) were treated by 25 mg/kg PLD inhibitors n-butanol, sec-butanol, lysophosphatidylethanolamine, 2,3-bis-phosphoglycerate, Wortmannin, salbutamol, and sodium cromoglycate, respectively. The postharvest properties of these longan fruits were analyzed during storage at (25±0.5)°C. 【Result】The results showed that the fruits treated with sec-butanol had lower pericarp browning and pulp autolysis, higher soluble solid content, and less fruit weight loss comparing with control. Compared with other PLD inhibitor treatment and the contro1, sec-butanol treatment could better maintain the fruit quality of longan. 【Conclusion】PLD inhibitor sec-butanol could effectively postpone quality deterioration of longan fruits during storage.
