【Objective】The sugarcane damages caused by termites were assessed in order to develop the methods for prevention and control of termites in Chongzuo （Guangxi）. 【Method】The rate of termite-damaged sugarcane plants was investigated in sugarcane growing areas of Xinhe， Tuolu and Fushui Town in Jiangzhou District of Chongzuo City. Sugarcane was randomly sampled from 61 trucks of Guangxi Tuolu East Asia Sugar Co.， Ltd. to investigate the rate of termite-damaged sugarcane plants. 【Result】The survey results showed that in Chongzuo the average rate of termite-damaged plants was 26.32%， however the highest rate was recorded as 41.71%. 【Conclusion】In Chongzuo， termite infestation was very common and serious， therefore， the efforts must be enhanced to prevent and control termites for sustaining sugarcane production.
