【Objective】The present experiment was conducted to investigate the changes in activities of IAAO and CAT in cuttings of Jatropha curcas L. 【Method】Four cutting types were collected from upper, middle and down parts of Jatropha curcas L. young and adult trees planted in Panzhihua city of Sichuan and Dashao of Yunnan Province, and were planted in field of Wanbao Village of Yuanmou, Yunnan. The activities of IAAO and CAT in cutting were detected during cuttage process. 【Result】During cuttage process of Jatropha curcas L. cuttings, the IAAO activity in bottom cuttings decreased, and the CAT activity increased during callus formation and root elongation stage. The IAAO activity in the top and bottom sections of cutting was higher than that of the middle section, while there was no significant difference in CAT activity in different cutting sections. In different clones, the IAAO activity of clones with higher survival rate or collected from young tree was lower, while the CAT activity of younger clones was higher than older clones. 【Conclusion】During cuttage process of Jatropha curcas L. cuttings, different age, maturity and survival rate of tree have significant effects on the activities of IAAO and CAT. The results obtained in the present studies will provide basis for selecting suitable cuttings.
