【Objective】 When the red fragrant hybrid rice F1 is crossed with male sterile line， the progenies can easily be confused with the white rice. To solve this problem as well as to enhance the rice germplasm resources， the efforts have been made to develop a rice sterile line. 【Method】 Low amylose content materials and fragrant rice variety （line） were selected as parents to develop a new sterile line using hybridization， backcross and trans-breeding operations. 【Result】 A rice sterile line Binglanghong A was bred with characteristic features of about 11.07% amylose content， distinct flavor and good taste. The newly bred rice sterile line Binglanghong A could provide new germplasm resources for the combination and application in breeding of red fragrant three-line hybrid rice variety.
