【Objective】The present studies were carried out to explore putative candidate genes associated with horizontal resistance to late blight disease of potato in order to utilize them in marker-assisted selection. 【Method】Thirty eight ESTs and genes, showing induced expression by Phytophthora infestans infection, were selected for mapping in two potato populations BCT and PCC1. The location results were used to compare with the known QTL loci. 【Result】In total, 11 candidate genes amplified 13 polymorphic bands in both the populations, of which 12 bands were mapped on the chromosome. The comparison of mapping results with the known QTLs indicated that 07-F08-P1-564 was located in QTL area of late blight resistance. 【Conclusion】It was concluded that 07-F08-P1-564 was related to horizontal resistance of potato late blight. These mapped candidate genes enriched linkage maps of potato and may be used as a bridge for genetic mapping of potato populations.
